Sinhala and Tamil New Year Celebration.

      Last year, for the Sinhala and Tamil new year, the youth society of our church organized a new year celebration. It was held on April 14th. We have prepared various activities for that. We also selected a dress code. So, boys wore sarong and girls wore lungi. We were eagerly waiting for that day.

       On 14th, we got everything ready in the morning. The celebration was in the evening. So we went ready on time. Everyone was very beautiful. First we lit the coconut oil lamp and opened the new year dinner table. Then we started our games.

      First we started the pot breaking contest. I didn't participate that game. Our president was selected as winner. Second we started tug of war. I participated that game and our team won. Then the musical chairs competition was held and I won the third place. 

      Then balloon dance, yogurt eating contest, blowing up balloons, placing the eye on the elephant were held in order. Not only that but also held many games. I won only three games. After that we had our gifts. 

      We prepared a cake for friends whose birthday was in April. Then we had our dinner and we started to dance. We took photos also. We had lot of fun that day.

My Church.

         My church is St. Joseph's Church Balangoda. It is a Catholic church. I was baptized in this church. My church is very beautiful. It is a very quiet place.

       I participated in church work since childhood. I was a member of the missionary children's club of the church. I have been a member of the keyboardist of the church. I am now a member o the church's youth union.

 

       I have many friends in the church. They are very funny friends. We go to church every evening on holidays to play. We play cricket and badminton. Our church fathers also play with us . After playing, we eat together.

      In our church, the feast day is in September. Now our church is 55 years old. I love going to church. We do a lot of work in the church during Easter, Christmas, and feast. Those were very fun time. We all go on picnics, we have Christmas parties, we have New year parties. All of us attend to the holy mass every Sunday. After the mass we spend some time there. 

         The time spent in the church is very beautiful. One place I like to go to in my life is my church. 

My First Working Experience.

       I applied different jobs when I was at home after my A/L. My least favorite job is working in the bank. But I applied for banks. I didn't think that I would be selected. But I got selected as an Intern at Commercial Bank. I was very scared. I thought I wouldn't go. But mom and dad forced me. So I had to go.

       Interviews conducted online due to the covid period. I attended a job interview for the first time. I answered everything out of fear. They said they will inform me later. In the evening I received an email that I was selected. Everyone was happy about it but I was not. I was afraid to go because there was no one I knew. But what can I do? So I attended to the training. It conducted online. Then I saw one of my friend also got selected. I was very happy. After the training my friend and I went to the head office and got the appointment letter. We both selected to the Balangoda branch.I felt a little happy because I got a job. 

    We went to the job for the first time on a Friday. My parents were very proud of me. They welcomed us. Then everyone got to know each other. We worked at the lower counter. Then we got used to it. But it is very difficult to work in a bank. But I worked some how.

     I met many good friends at bank. And those who get angry even for small things. Those who blame everything. I have learned many things. I got used to it all. I went a trip with them. It's very enjoyable. We had lot of fun. I went temple with them. We played with them. Eat different foods. 

    I worked there for a year. I had to leave the job because I got selected to the university. The last day I felt very sad. We took a group photo and they wished me for my future. It is also one of my life experiences. 

My School Life.

         I went to one school from grade one to my A/L. My school is St. Agnes Girls School Balangoda. My school has two sections, primary section and senior section. There are girls and boys in the primary section. Only girls study in the senior section. The primary school as well as the senior section has been built very nicely. There are different types of flowers. There are different types of trees in the school. Rv. Fr. Starch, the creator of our school.

         Our school is a catholic school. But Catholic, Buddhist and Islamic children study. Only nuns are appointed to the position of principal in our school. A preschool is also run by the nuns. Only female teachers teach in our school. The motto of our school is Proceed with Courage. Discipline is number one in our school and also cleanliness. 

        Various competitions, festivals and various activities are held in our school. I did a lot of activities when I was in school. So, I am a famous character in our school. All the teachers and students know me. 

        In primary school, I became the head prefect. I was a member of the media club. And there were programs to be presented by me at almost every event. And I was a member of Scout club. It was the primary time. 

         Then I went to the senior section. Even there I participated in many activities. Dancing, singing, acting, I participated in everything. I used to perform on stage in every programs during my school days. I was a member of the senior media club. I was a member of  the school western band. I played the accordion, side drum, and then became the leader of the band. I went to various places to perform with the band. Also I participated in music, Sinhala, Tamil and English competitions and won. Not only that, I was also appointed as the vice head prefect of the school. Our school took us to church on the first Friday of every month. There I played the keyboard.

 

       I had lot of fun with my school friends. Not only my friends but also with my younger sisters of the school. For the first time in our school, I studied western music for AL exam. I also selected for the university. 

      I miss my school life a lot. I love to go back to school. I love my school.

Free time.

          I like to be very free.😃 When I get a free day,  I sleep until late afternoon.😴 Then get up and pick up the phone and see if there are any new details. After that, get out of bed, wash my face and drink my morning tea.🍵  After some time I have my breakfast.🍲

           As soon as I am free, I clean my room. Decorate the room with flowers.🌹🌸 I like my place to be nice and clean.😌 I watch a lot of movies. English, Tamil, Hindi etc.:  I also like to listen to music.🎶 I play songs loudly. I like to dance very much. So, I put music and dance alone.💃 But sometimes I get tired of doing them.

            I love to read books. I have many books. Novels, short stories, love stories, funny stories, mystery stories etc.:📓📖 I love to read mystery stories very much. I read more Sherlock Holmes books. 😇Some days my mother does not let me read books because I will be sick.😵 But I read secretly.😝 I will never stop reading books. I also read books during work. 

          Also, I like to eat different types of foods. So some times I make different types of food. After that, I take their photos and upload them to social media. Some times I go to church and pray for a long time. 😍I also like to draw, so I watch YouTube videos and draw. 

        When I have free time, some times I go out with my friends. I spent the day eating, walking and playing with them. Some times I go for a walk alone, then I also go to the salon and also go shopping. I like to dress nicely. So I try new fashions. Not only that, I love to travel when I have free time. Sometimes I watch T.V. too. When I get tired of doing these things, I sleep.😂

 So, this is how I spend my free time.

A Fun Day.

     The members of our church choir organized a trip. We decided to go on the 09th of February. We arranged a bus to go to trip. We were eagerly waiting for that day to come. On 09th We got up early morning and quickly got ready an joined the church. Everyone was very happy. The bus came. We all got up bus and sat on our favorite places. We went this trip to Negombo. We sang and danced. Fathers of our church also participated with us. They also sang songs with us. 

      First we went to Seeduwa Supuwath Arana around 11.30a.m. The father who was there welcomed us. After that, he talked with us and taught us how to move our lives forward. Then we had our breakfast. There was roti, bread and rice for breakfast. Then we walked around. It's  a very beautiful place. Every where was made related to the life of Jesus. It's my first visit to that place. We took photos, walked and looked everywhere. Then we started our journey again. 

      We entered Negombo. Many churches were built on both sides of road. Negombo is the village where our father lived. Negombo is called Little Rome. We stopped for a boat ride. The boat driver explained the surroundings to us. It was very fun. After the boat ride we spent some time there. Then again we started the journey. 

      Then we went to St. Mary' Church Negombo. Wow... It is a very beautiful church. We prayed there and spent some time. After that we went to a relative's house of our father. They had prepared lunch for us. After lunch we sang and danced. We spent a lot of time there. Then we went to the beach and played a lot.

       After that we left for home around 8 p.m. We sang and danced and had fun. We had our dinner on the way. We reached home around 2p.m. It was very fun day.

My First Love.

 " A father is a son's first hero and a daughter's first love"

         This sentence is really true. My first love in my life is my dad. Not only that but my hero, best friend, my everything is my dad. My mom also like that but today I am talking about my dad.

          My dad and I have a very loving relationship. No one loves me more than my dad. My mom said that my dad was very happy when I was born. Dad is with me from then until now. Dad takes care of me like his eyes. Dad can never be without seeing me. He will not send me anywhere alone. I am at the forefront of his life. 

           I also went to school near our house. When I entered the University and stayed in the hostel, my dad cried a lot. Then he takes video calls and calls every day. It is very difficult for me to live without him. My father is very happy and proud of me for all my achievements. When I'm sad , he does anything to make me happy. He gets very scared when I get sick.    

            My dad works hard for me. When I have to go far away to participate in some competitions, my father takes me and stays alone until I return from work. I feel sad at that time. 

            I have yet to see anything my father couldn't do. He really is a hero. He do anything. I go everywhere holding my dad's hand. My father protects me and loves me more than his own life. Everyone knows that. His only wish in life is for me and my brother to be happy.

               I always praise God for giving me such a loving father. My father is the best father in the world. I will do anything to make my  dad happy. Dad I promise I will fulfill all your expectations of me.  I will never find love like tis. 

So I love my first love very much.
